Squash Racket BagsOf all the handiest bits of Squash Equipment out there, the humble Squash Bag will be your best friend. As most of you will already know, and what all of you learn as you progress, is that there will be times when you need multiple squash rackets available. I'll regularly carry 4-5 rackets with me to a pennants (competitive match) game.
I have my favorite racket, a spare of that racket, a second favorite and it's spare. Sometimes I'll have a fifth which I will use as a loaner to friends that I am playing or introducing to Squash. Not to mention, it has been lent to my opponents during a number of competitive matches too. I'd rather play a match out than have them forfeit due to a broken racket. It can happen to anyone, it of course, it always happens at the most inconvenient of times!
So, the versatility of the additional rackets is nice, but carrying 5 squash rackets, two water bottles, a towel, a pack of squash balls and spare clothes in your hands is quite the challenge. Which is where I jump in and say 'Submit!' Buy a Squash Bag! With all the big names manufacturing their own squash racket bags, you're spoiled for choice. I personally have a Head Tour Team Combi Squash Bag which I have been using for a number of seasons. I replaced my previous Prince Tour Team Triple Squash Racket Bag when finally, after almost 3 years, the seams began to split.
At the end of the day, if you stick to one of the big brand names you will come out with:
- A high quality bag
- A shoulder strap to save your arms
- A carry strap to save your shoulder (post match! ;) )
- Room for 3-5 Rackets
- A handy bag to carry your balls, clothes, drinks and towel in!
It's an ergonomic bag with additional storage pockets, a carry handle and a padded, adjustable and removable shoulder strap. Being an official bag of the ATP world tour, the bag must be of a high quality. It's got a great style and look to it and is a great size. It is not overly large yet nor is it cramped. Head have created a real nice squash bag and with the study zippers and pulls it will likely survive well beyond your squash career!
A lot of people have stated that it has more room than you think and are typically very pleased. Even those looking for a smaller bag are impressed at it's stream lined lack of bulk. You can comfortably carry your squash racquets, squash balls, water bottle and sweater for post-match. There is also a small pocket for keys, wallets, phones etc. It's pretty fully by that point but it stores it all comfortably.
Of the two colour schemes I prefer the blue and white for looks. Though a friend of mine noted that she thinks the black/white color scheme does not 'dirty' as quickly.
The shoulder pad is very comfortable and makes this already simple and light squash bag easy to carry. It will fit into most gym lockers which is a big plus.
All in all, the Head ATP Pro Bag (Squash or Tennis!) is most likely what you are looking for! I would recommend it to any recreational player.
Head ATP Combi Bag
Ready for the big, the beastly and the beautiful? The Head ATP Combi bag is a big son'of'a'gun! It has a large main compartment... So it so large that it fits 6 racquet s. Yep, SIX racquet s. HUMONGOUS! Two help you carry this large load it comes with two padded and adjustable shoulder straps as well as a carry handle. An accessory pocket is also included to help you store your personal items away during the match. An item which I particularly like is the separate shoe bag. This is something pretty handy. More than you realize until you have it.
So if you are looking to bring an arsenal to the court this is your bag. The two large zippered (heavy duty zips) really do fit 6 racquets. Although it should be noted that this is without additional racquet covers.
You will quite comfortably fit in your racquets, shoes, equipment, water balls and spare squash balls with out a problem. Your shoes can go into the draw string bag which comes with the ATP Combi which makes separating your odors ( ;) ) a little simpler! It's an amazing value bag and it's price is more than reasonable!
Head Classic Sport Bag (Black/Gray/White)The Head Classic Sport bag is a more affordable sports bag from Head. It's still a high quality item and is a great choice if you are looking to save some money.
It has a large main compartment and will comfortable fit 3 racquets as well as your normal mix of squash balls, squash shoes, clothing and personal items. Your personal items will all fit into the large front accessory pocket for some additional security while you are playing your games.
The adjustable and padded carry handle is nice. You do not get a shoulder strap with this bag however.
It's a well built bag with good strong zips and strong materials used in it's construction. It's an all round winner and perfect for those on a budget who still demand high quality and high usability.
Head Classic Sport Bag (Black/Gray/White)
Black Knight BackpackHere is something different. A Squash Bag which is a backpack. This is a super good idea and one which really makes sense. Black Knight haven't tried to do anything fancy or re-create the wheel. They have simply come up with a great remake of the backpack. It's made of a strong nylon material and has been designed for carrying a number of racquets and related equipment. Anyone who knows Black Knight knows that their products are all top notch.
It has a great pull string front, two side pockets for squash ball cannisters and water bottles. The middle section is also split between the main compartment for shoes, clothes and whatever you deem necessary. The squash racquets themselves get a seperate compartment which holds them secure and upright.

It's a great idea as it means that you've got a high quality racquet bag as well as a bag which you can use for other purposes. A great idea and well pulled off.
Black Knight Tournament Squash Bag
Now this is a nice bit of kit! The Black Knight Tournament Squash Bag is a versatile carry-all. It has a main compartment for squash racquets and some gear. It also has a second compartment big enough to hold another racquet and even more gear. Between the two the bag will very comfortably hold three racquets. It also has a smaller segregated compartment for keys/wallets/phones etc. The racquets and accessory pocket can all be reached via top mounted zips. Each zip is robust and should last a long time there.
It has dual carry handles, supported with a velcro-close pad for comfort and carrying ease. The adjustable and removable shoulder straps are of a decent size and the adjustable pad is nice and roomy. It's a damn good looking bag and really shows that you know your products. It's on my wish list!
Black Knight Triple Gear Bag (Blue/Black)The triple gear bag is very similar to Black Knights' offering above, the Tournament. The triple is typically a bit more affordable, but in its own right it is a very decent bag.
The Black Knight Triple Gear Bag has three zippered sections, one per racquet. They have wide openings which makes it super easy to access and replace your equipment. Extra pockets are added to main section for your accessories and personal goods while you are playing. There are also two wet-lined, vented pouches which are great for shoes or wet clothing. Another fantastic idea is the full backpack style shoulder straps so that you can wear the bag in the same way as a backpack. They are easily clipped and unclipped so you can revert the bag back to a single, over the shoulder type or remove them completely if you so desire.
It's a great design for those looking for a bag which carries three racquets and enjoy the ability to carry their bag on their shoulders. A great looking, highly versatile bag. Highly recommended!
Dunlop Aerogel 4D 10-Racquet Bag
Ok, enough Black Knight, lets have a look at Dunlop! Dunlop have been around for a long time and are well known and respected for good reason.
The 4D can carry 10 racquets. Yep. I'll repeat that for you. The 4D can carry 10 squash rackets! It has 3 separate compartments... And believe it or not, it is thermolly regulated with thermally insulated layers to help protect your racquets.
Now personally, this is pretty excessive for me. I've never come close to owning 10 squash racquets, let alone 10 any-type-of racquets! If this is for you, then I would imagine you are one seriously good squash player!
My other thought is that this may be really good for trainers and teachers who work mobile. It'll sure make carrying students training racquets a lot easier!
It comes with padded shoulder straps, and while I haven't tried it with 10 racquets in it, I am under the impression that it is surprisingly comfortable. If you own it, buy it and use it, please provide some feedback!
Harrow Jonathan Power Signature Tour BagHarrow. Boy oh boy. Now, most beginners are not aware of Harrow. Harrow are perhaps not as big as some of the other names, but they are very dedicated to squash and develop some of the best equipment in the market today. Just quietly, this is my pick of the bunch. I'm already sure that the other bags will be more popular than this one due to the other brands name popularity, but if you are reading this, try out Harrow. You will not be disappointed.
The Harrow Jonathan Power Signature Tour Bag is named after the legendary skills of Jonathan Power. If you are new to Squash, google his name or check out our squash videos. He is a jet. A great representative for the sport!
The bag has to meet his standards and they certainly do.
WIth the capability to fit 6 squash rackets into its two main compartments it has plenty of room for storage. It also has 2 exterior side pockets for the rest of your squash equipment, clothing and shoes. The material that the bag of is really high quality and means that it should last longer than your squash career!
The padded backpack-style shoulder straps are another nice touch and should attract those that want a hands-free carry option.
It's also got a number of vent holes so that when you 'forget' to take your gear out, it won't smell like a wet dog!!
This is a damn good choice, and I doubt anyone would be disappointed with this one!!
Harrow 3 Racquet Bag (Navy/White)The Harrow 3 racquet bag is another great quality bag. While it is not of the F1 standard like the Jonathon Power bag, it is perfect for those after a 3-racqueter. Probably more appropriate for most of us!
This is a great bag and is probably best for most people.
Harrow Dread Tour BagWant a bit of class? Pick up the Harrow Dread Tour Bag.
The dread is essentially the same as the JP tour bag. Two main compartments which fit 3 racquets each for a total of 6. Each pocket has an interior pocket for all your personal items. It's got a great back-pack style shoulder strap system as well as vent holes to reduce the likelihood of everything smelling like your shoes.
Harrow 6 Racquet Bag/Backpack (Black/Silver)The Harrow 6 is akin to the 3 racquet bag. It is essentially twice the size and could be likened to two Harrow 3's sowed together.
It's very roomy and easy to carry. The backpack style, with the capability to carry 6 racquets make it a fantastic choice. It is a bit cheaper then the tour versions of the bag and is really the same thing, just cheaper. Save some money and get one of these ;)
A great choice if you want the best of qualities without paying the biggest price! Bargains are available. Get it!
Prince Squash Team Triple PackPrince are a well known brand and have been presenting top quality equipment to the market for decades. Trust them, like everyone trusts them for good reason.
The Prince '08 Squash Team Triple Pack design is pretty slick. It has three compartments with thermal insulation around the center racquet and outer racquet to protect them from extreme heat and extreme cold conditions. Pretty cool hey? I've only ever heard good things on about these bags and believe they're a solid performer.

Prince '08 Squash BagThis is pretty much the same as the Triple Team that you read about above. It's another solid performer, but a bit cheaper as it doesn't have the word 'team' in it.
It holds 3 squash racquets in a single compartment. Not like the triple team which has the 3 compartments. It also doesn't have the 'Thermal Insulation'. The insulation stuff is pretty cool but you'll probably find that it doesn't affect you that much. Save some money and get this one. It's got a great outside pocket for your wallet and keys as well. Probably a good choice for people who have two racquets and want to carry equipment as well. Another great performer.
Wilson Pro Tour 6 Pak Squash Bag
I thought I'd finish the post of with a quality Wilson bag. Wilson are probably the oldest hands in the game.
The zippered compartments are pretty sweet and come with padded walls. Nice hey? They'll protect your racquets superbly. The air-mesh pads on the top handle makes heavy loads easily. The padded and ergonomically adjustable shoulder straps at the bottom of the bag help you carry it on your bag safely and keeps your hands independent and free.
The removable waterproof bag (for your clothes, shoes, towel) is removable which is great.
So for a 6 racquet carry bag you get a high quality, good looking bit of kit.
I'd consider it as an almost perfect squash bag. It securely holds and protects 6 of your squash racquets and comes with moisture guard and a PVC free design. The backpack functionality of the bag will protect your back and maintain your hands agility.
It's an amazing bag for the price (check it out below) and should fit everything that you need for your match.
